The National Alliance to End Homelessness has published an excellent analysis to support an increase in HUD homeless funding from $1.441 billion in FY 2007 to $1.8 billion in FY 2008.  The analysis can be viewed by clicking here.

With the proposed funding amount, communities across the nation would be able to develop 15,000 units of permanent for chronically homeless people, fund all expiring permanent housing renewals, and initiate a rapid re-housing program for homeless families.

If you are going to the July 11, 2007, Congressional Reception this is an immediate must read.
