Trenton Times publishes letter about Congressional Reception
Tonya Woodland writes about Congressman Holt’s support!
I am confident that Congressman Holt will do whatever he can to guarantee this most basic human right through support of the Second Chance Act, HUD/SAMSHA funding and reauthorization of the McKinney-Vento Act.
On August 30, 2008, the Trenton Times published a letter from one of the constituents of Congressman Holt’s about his participation in the July 30th Congressional Reception. We are pleased to republish the letter from our friend Tonya Woodland. We encourage others who attended the Congressional Reception to submit letters to their local newspapers. Rep. Holt open to fighting homelessness
Saturday, August 30, 2008
I thank my congressman, Rep. Rush Holt, D-Hopewell Township, for taking time out of a busy day while Congress was still in session, to attend the Second Annual Congressional Reception on Homelessness in New Jersey July 30. More than 200 New Jersey residents traveled to Washington, D.C., to participate.
Those of us in attendance were impressed with Rep. Holt’s compassionate and informed remarks on the lack of affordable housing in New Jersey and I am confident that he will do whatever he can to guarantee this most basic human right through support of the Second Chance Act, HUD/SAMSHA funding and reauthorization of the McKinney-Vento Act.
