Scarc, Inc. and Scarc Housing, Inc. hosted a ground breaking ceremony for their new HUD project in Stillwater, New Jersey on Wednesday, October 15, 2008. This is the organizations second ground breaking this month! The ceremony was attended by representatives for Stillwater Township, Scarc, JAC Mechanical, Inc. and the architectural firm of Charles Schaffer Associates. Stillwater representatives included William Morrison, Mayor of Stillwater; Stillwater Township Community Member Lou Sylvester; and representatives from Paulinskill Lake Association.

This property is part of a two-site project that was funded by the HUD Section 811 program. The other property which broke ground on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 is located in Lafayette, New Jersey. The Stillwater property consists of new construction of a ranch style single family home for five individuals with developmental disabilities. When complete, the home will be handicapped accessible and will blend into the existing neighborhood of similar style homes. The home will contain five bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a large kitchen, living room and dining room.

The project was made possible with funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, New Jersey Department of Human Services/Division of Developmental Disabilities and the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York.

Monarch Housing served as the consultant and our Project Management Team will be involved with the project during construction.
