“Let’s do something cool to keep someone warm this Winter”
BORDENTOWN, NJ – On Sunday, February 21st at 12 noon, a gathering of some of the top New Jersey musicians will perform in one day for a worthy cause. Blank-Fest New Jersey IV at will be held at Alstarz Sports Pub, 140 Route 130 South in Bordentown, NJ.
The very first Blank-Fest concert to benefit the homeless was founded 13 years ago by New York native Kenn Rowell. This year is New Jersey’s 4th show benefiting Monarch Housing of Cranford. Traditionally, the suggested price of admission is a blanket. This year, however, show organizers will also accept small monetary donations and coats.
The “noon ‘til closing” benefit concert will feature 11 musical acts who are donating their time and talent to the effort, including:
• Noon: Melinda Davis
• 1PM: Splooge
• 2PM: Everlounge
• 3PM: Stupid Should Hurt
• 4PM: The Jody Jospeh Band
• 5PM: Damn The Torpedoes (a Tom Petty tribute band)
• 6PM: The Expressway Band (Bon Jovi’s former band)
• 7PM: Bell Bottom Blues (an Eric Clapton tribute band)
• 8PM: Black Reign (a Black Sabbath/Ozzy tribute band)
• 9PM FP TOZ
• 10PM The Baghdaddios, fronted by Blank-Fest founder Kenn Rowell.
The first Blank-Fest show was held in 1997 in Nyack, NY. Since then, musicians in several U.S. states, Canada and England have heard about the cause and organized their own Blank-Fest benefit concerts. In its 13-year history, Blank-Fest has collected and distributed more than 6,000 blankets to the homeless.
“In these tough times, I believe we all understand how important it is to help those less fortunate than ourselves,” says Blank-Fest founder Kenn Rowell. “But many of us are also feeling the economic pinch, and money is hard to come by. This is a great, inexpensive way to help someone in need.”
