Bergen College forum on June 21st
to focus on housing first
On Tuesday, June 21, 2011, Bergen Community College is hosting a forum entitled, “Informing the New Jersey Discussion – Ending Homelessness: Challenges & Solutions.” The event will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and will take place in the Moses Family Meeting and Training Center (TEC 128.)
Bergen County is the 21st most affluent county in the U.S. Yet, over the course of last year, an estimated 942 Bergen residents – our neighbors – went to sleep without a roof over their heads. This discussion will focus on homelessness, its challenges and the road ahead.
This event is free, but seating is limited.
Panelists will include:
- Julia Orlando, Director, Bergen County Housing, Health and Human Services Center
- Lisa Stand, Senior Analyst for Program and Policy, National Alliance to End Homelessness
- Tom Toronto, President, United Way of Bergen County
- Sam Tsemberis, Founder and CEO, Pathways to Housing
