Only private nonprofit owners of a Section 202 project interested in applying for funding under this program should carefully review the detailed information listed in the .

The purpose of this program is to provide assistance for a demonstration program to expand the supply of intergenerational dwelling units for very lowincome grandparent(s) or relative(s) heads of households 62 years of age or older raising a child who is not more than 18 years of age or not more than 19 years of age and also attending school.The family must meet the age requirements to be eligible for an intergenerational dwelling unit.

Available Funds. Funding is available for $3.96 million to develop housing for intergenerational families. anticipates awarding two to four project awards. The maximum amount of award is $2 million.

Intergenerational dwelling units include:

a. development of buildings or projects comprised solely of intergenerational units; or

b. through the development of an annex or addition to an existing project assisted under Section 202 of the Housing Act of 1959 (12 U. S. C. 1701q), that contains
intergenerational dwelling units, including through the development of elder cottage
housing opportunity units that are small, freestanding, barrier free, energy efficient, removable dwelling units located adjacent to a larger project or dwelling.
