If there was ever a required training that all interested and involved parties should attend, it is the two on compliance and monitoring.

Provider Compliance Training: Opening the Doors to Those in Need - Eligibility and Documentation in HUD Homeless Programs

These half-day trainings will provide attendees with information and tools to ensure that their programs are in compliance with HUD’s regulations regarding eligibility of participants, financial requirements and documentation. Topics covered will include:

Determining and documenting eligibility in HUD Supportive Housing Program and Shelter Plus Care, including homelessness, disability and income eligibility

Determining and documenting tenant rent

Determining and documenting required match, leverage and Shelter Plus Care Supportive Services match

The trainings will include interactive exercises and sample documentation forms and policies.

Continuum of Care Training: Monitoring Compliance in HUD Homeless Programs

As a Continuum of Care, you are responsible for ensuring that your HUD-funded programs are compliant with HUD’s regulations. These day-long trainings are aimed at Continuum of Care representatives who will have responsibility for monitoring program compliance.

Topics covered will include:

Participant Eligibility and Documentation

Match and Leverage Documentation

Resident Rent

Housing Quality Standards

Recordkeeping

Financial Controls

APR and Reporting

New Project Benchmarks

The trainings will include interactive exercises and sample monitoring checklists, a monitoring manual and sample documentation forms and policies.
