Phil Mangano the Executive Director of US Interagency Council on Homelessness will be visiting three Project Homeless Connect New Jersey events on Thursday January 25th. He will be visiting sites in Passaic, Hudson and Essex. This is a result of the excitement and enthusiasm that has been generated across New Jersey for this first ever statewide Project Homeless Connect Event.
Monarch Housing, in collaboration with the New Jersey Alliance for the Homeless (NJAH) is coordinating and planning the first statewide Project Homeless Connect (PHC) in the country. Due to the efforts of Monarch Housing, twenty (20) counties have signed on to holding events on January 25th.Â Each county has been planning and coordinating their own event and there will be a total of forty-three (43) Project Homeless Connect sites across the state as many counties have multiple locations.Â While every location will vary in the types of services provided, all will be providing food and much needed items for the Homeless.Â Many sites will have housing providers, nurses, mental health services, drug and alcohol services as well as local boards of social services.Â However, this is the largest one day Project Homeless Connect event ever held anywhere in the country.
Mr. Mangano will begin his day at the Passaic County Project Homeless Connect event at Harbor House in Paterson. He will then travel to Jersey City to participate in the Hudson County event at the Armory. He will end his tour in Branch Brook Park in Newark for the Essex County Project Homeless Connect day.
