According to a new policy brief from the Urban Institute, the analysis and mapping of prisoner reentry data can help communities better address the needs of returning prisoners. Reentry mapping initiatives should engage communities as early as possible, the brief says. The brief outlines three key elements of a community engagement strategy: enlisting the support and involvement of community stakeholders; developing a diverse and complementary set of dissemination methods; and presenting research findings strategically to create a foundation for positive community action.
