HHS: Strategic Action Plan on Homelessness

This is from our friends at the National Alliance to End Homelessness.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has released Strategic Action Plan on Homelessness, a follow up to the 2003 plan, Ending Chronic Homelessness: Strategies for Action. This plan refines the goals and strategies in the Administration’s effort to end chronic homelessness. This new strategic plan identifies four key goals:

Prevent episodes of homelessness within the HHS clientele, including individuals and families;

Help eligible, homeless individuals and families receive health and social services;

Empower our state and community partners to improve their response to individuals and families experiencing homelessness; and

Develop an approach to track Departmental progress in preventing, reducing, and ending homelessness for HHS clientele.
