In the print edition of “The Auditor” column in the Sunday Star-Ledger there was a report that the Governor “is close to nominating the veteran lawmaker and Bayonne Mayor to a Cabinet post, commissioner of community affairs.” They also quote a high ranking Democrat whispering that “Doria is going to DCA.” According to numerous sources “The Auditor” states that “Doria is the clear choice, and he’s accepted the offer, but nothing is official until he clears the mandatory background check by the State Police.” The report also notes that Doria would have to resign his Senate seat as well as Mayor of Bayonne.
