SAMHSA’s FY 2008 “Treatment for Homeless” Grants

Wednesday, May 7 from 3:00 to 4:30 PM ET

This Hot Topics in Supportive Housing Audio-Conference will focus on The Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) is pleased to present our next Hot Topics in Supportive Housing Audio-Conference focused on helping prospective applicants learn more about the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) FY 2008 Treatment for Homeless Grants Program (TI-08-013). The purpose of this program is to expand and strengthen treatment services for persons who are homeless (including those who are chronically homeless) and who also have substance use disorders, mental disorders, or co-occurring substance use and mental disorders. SAMHSA expects that up to $10 million will be available for 25 grants of approximately $400,000 per grant for up to five years. Of this amount, $4.5 million will be available for grants to provide services in supportive housing. All grants will be administered by SAMHSA’s Center for Substance Abuse Treatment as part of the Treatment for Homeless Program.

Many supportive housing providers and their local partners are familiar with the requirements associated with other sources of federal funding for housing and homeless services, but may have less experience with SAMHSA grants. CSH has invited SAMHSA staff to join us for this Audio-Conference to share information and respond to questions about this grant opportunity. Learn more about what it takes to access this source of federal funding, and find out about SAMHSA’s resources to expand and strengthen treatment services for individuals experiencing homelessness in your community. Please note: It will be helpful for all participants to be at a computer with Internet access during this Audio-Conference.

Presenters on this call will include:

Jim Herrell, Social Science Analyst/Team Leader, Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, SAMHSA
Danielle Johnson, Public Health Analyst, Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, SAMHSA
