Campaign ends homelessness with permanent homes
On August 15, 2011, the CBS Evening News aired a story about the 100,000 Homes Campaign. CBS highlighted campaign volunteers with Project Housed Pasadena as well as Bruce Marzett, a Vietnam veteran who experienced homelessness for nearly twenty years before moving into a permanent apartment last month.
The 100,000 Homes Campaign is a collaborative movement of 88 communities working to end long-term homelessness throughout the United States. To date, these communities have found permanent housing for more than 10,500 people.
Four local communities in New Jersey – Morris and Bergen Counties, New Brunswick, and Newark – are participating in the campaign and working to end long-term homelessness in New Jersey.
