HUD Releases Proposed FY2012 FMRs

New rates are for FY 2012
Fourteen counties go up, seven go down
Cape May had the largest increase!
Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset had the largest decrease!

Proposed FY2012 FMRsOn August 19, 2011, HUD published the Proposed Fair Market Rents for the Housing Choice Voucher Program and Moderate Rehabilitation Single Room Occupancy Program Fiscal Year 2012 in the Federal Register. The purpose of the notice is provide the preliminary information so that the proposed payment standards can be reviewed prior to taking effect on October 1, 2011.

  • Cape May increased by 13.8%.
  • Atlantic, Bergen, Cumberland, Essex, Hudson, Mercer, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Sussex, Union and Warren also had increases.
  • Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset decreased by 8.6%.
  • More modest decreases are projected in Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Salem.
