On August 19, 2011, HUD published the Proposed Fair Market Rents for the Housing Choice Voucher Program and Moderate Rehabilitation Single Room Occupancy Program Fiscal Year 2012 in the Federal Register. The purpose of the notice is provide the preliminary information so that the proposed payment standards can be reviewed prior to taking effect on October 1, 2011.
- Cape May increased by 13.8%.
- Atlantic, Bergen, Cumberland, Essex, Hudson, Mercer, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Sussex, Union and Warren also had increases.
- Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset decreased by 8.6%.
- More modest decreases are projected in Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Salem.
