Help Increase Resources for Homeless Youth

Join the Alliance’s RHYA Campaign
For Funding Beyond $115 Million

Help Increase Resources for Homeless YouthLast week, the National Alliance to End Homelessness (the Alliance) launched a campaign targeted towards increasing fiscal year (FY) 2013 funding for Runaway and Homeless Youth Act (RHYA) programs.

The President’s FY 2013 Budget Proposal called for maintaining flat funding RHYA programs at $115 million. The Alliance has launched a campaign with the National Network for Youth (NN4Youth) to ensure that Congress makes ending youth homelessness a priority in FY 2013. And they need your help ensuring that Congress provides at least $127 million for this key program to maintain existing programs and to better serve this vulnerable population.

The Alliance is seeking to send as many letters as possible by Tuesday, March 20, 2012.

You can help by:

  1. Emailing/faxing the staff members who work on youth/family issues in your representatives’ and senators’ offices RIGHT AWAY! The campaign website (see link below) has sample letters and talking points;
  2. Ask colleagues, partners, and consumers to send letters, too; and
  3. Let the Alliance how many letters you send! Email Kate Seif.
