Center for Housing Policy Releases Housing Landscape 2012
The Center for Housing Policy released a report yesterday finding that, in the United States, the share of working households paying more than half their income for housing rose significantly between 2008 and 2010 for both renters and owners.
The states with the highest share of working households with a severe housing cost burden in 2010 were California, Florida, New Jersey, Hawaii, and Nevada.
In New Jersey:
In 2010, there were 1,139,986 working households,
360,393 or 32% of the working households faced a severe housing cost burden, and
