The President has proposed that Congress provide $2.23 billion in fiscal year (FY) 2013 for HUD’s McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Grants – a 17% increase over FY 2012.

HUD on March 13, 2012, announced the awards for 2011. The total awards for new and renewal projects in New Jersey were $38,559,292. This is a new record. New Jersey’s total 2010 award is 7.2% higher than the total 2010 award of $38,417,591, which had been New Jersey’s most successful year to date. Click here for details.

We truly appreciate their commitment of these four congressmen to ending homelessness in New Jersey and implementing the bipartisan HEARTH Act, which reauthorized the McKinney program.

Also, thank you to the advocates in their districts who reached out to the four congressmen and urged them to sign on to the letter.
