All will be administered by State of NJ Department of Community Affairs.
Communities targeted for the vouchers include:
Atlantic City – 10 vouchers
Jersey City – 25 vouchers
New Brunswick – 25 vouchers
Newark – 15 vouchers
Paterson – 25 vouchers
Somerville/Lyons – 25 vouchers
Tinton Falls – 25 vouchers
Trenton/Hamilton – 50 vouchers
A total of $72.6 million was awarded to public housing agencies across the country and this will permanently house more than 10,000 homeless veterans.
The HUD-VASH program provides permanent housing and case management and since the program’s inception, 32,000 Veterans across the country have been housed through HUD-VASH. This is the first of two rounds of the 2012 HUD-VASH funding with HUD expecting to announce the remaining funding by the end of this summer.
