On April 19, 2012, the Senate Appropriations Committee released the proposed 302(b) allocations for its 12 subcommittees. As background, 302(b) allocations represent the amount each subcommittee will have to spend on all the programs under its purview. For example, the Transportation-HUD Subcommittee allocation is the amount of funding the Transportation, HUD and Related Agencies Appropriations Subcommittee is able to divide among all the programs within those departments.
The Senate’s FY 2013 Transportation-HUD 302(b) allocation is $53.4 billion, $2 billion less than in FY 2012.
And on April 24, 2012, the House Appropriations Committee released its 302b allocations. The House’s FY 2013 Transportation-U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Develop (HUD) 302(b) allocation is $51.606 billion, approximately $6 billion less than in FY 2012.
