Two key state legislative hearings are happening this week in Trenton. On Wednesday, there will be a hearing about the Municipal Housing Trust Funds. And on Thursday, there will be a hearing on two foreclosure bills – Senator Lesniak introduced his foreclosure bill which was vetoed by the Governor as two separate bills. One is to address speeding up foreclosure of vacant buildings and the other is to move foreclosed properties into the housing stock making some of them affordable.
The Wednesday, August 8, 2012 hearing will take place in the Assembly Housing and Local Government Meeting at 2:00 p.m. in Committee Room 16, 4th Floor, State House Annex, Trenton. It will be chaired by Assemblyman Jerry Green. The committee will hear testimony from invited guests and members of the public regarding the transfer of municipal affordable housing trust fund monies to the State General Fund for use in the Fiscal Year 2013 State Budget.
The Thursday, August 9, 2012 hearing, the Senate Economic Growth Meeting, will take place at 10:30 a.m. in Committee Room 1, 1st Floor, State House Annex, Trenton. The hearing will be on the following two foreclosure bills:
S2156 [Lesniak, Raymond J.], Resid prop, abandoned-concerns mortgages
S2157 [Lesniak, Raymond J.], Resid. Foreclosure Transformation Act
