This is a yearly event that brings together leaders of all faith groups in NJ on an issue of social concern.
The faith community cannot stand idly when safe and decent housing is unaffordable and unavailable for millions of Americans. We recognize the importance of decent shelter as a core necessity to overcoming poverty. The FPWF event is designed to educate our communities about this issue and provide an advocacy forum to increase the supply of and expand access to housing for low income families and individuals.
The State Association of Jewish Federations, the NJ Catholic Conference and the Lutheran Office of Governmental Ministry in NJ have led the way in convening and coordinating New Jersey’s annual observance of “Fighting Poverty with Faith (FPWF),” a national initiative (in its fifth year) to cut poverty 50 percent in America by 2020.
Monarch Housing Associates is one of the thirty-six co-sponsors of this event.
