Funding for Partnerships Demonstrating Effectiveness
The Administration for Children, Youth and Families (ACYF), Children’s Bureau (CB), has announced the availability of competitive grant funds authorized by the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) Reauthorization Act of 2010.
The grants are to be partnerships to demonstrate the effectiveness of supportive housing for youth involved in the child welfare system.
These targeted five-year grants are to be awarded to support:
The development of innovative supportive housing programs to prevent child abuse and neglect among the children of pregnant and parenting youth in foster care or young adults formerly in foster care;
The development of innovative supportive housing programs to treat and ameliorate the effects of child abuse and neglect experienced by youth in foster care or young adults formerly in foster care;
Local implementation of supportive housing services that integrate community services for housing and other critical services for the specified target populations;
Customized case management services, including trauma informed interventions, substance abuse and mental health services through partnerships to access additional services through community-based service providers; and
Evaluations that examine the process and outcomes for these grants.
The anticipated grant deadline is Monday, May 20, 2013.
