Please join Monarch Housing Associates in signing your organization onto a letter urging the House and Senate Appropriations Committees to allocate the highest possible level of funding to the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (THUD) Subcommittees in fiscal year (FY) 2014.
As background, House and Senate Appropriations Committees will soon decide how much FY14 funding each appropriations subcommittee will receive, including funding for the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Subcommittee. This funding allocation for subcommittees, called the 302(b), will determine how much funding is available for HUD and DOT programs in FY14.
Click here to email us if you have questions or to confirm you have signed the letter.
The FY13 THUD 302(b) allocation was 24% below the FY10 enacted level, even before sequestration.
We are told by Congressional staff that the letter sent by advocates for FY13 made a positive impact on the amount of funding available to these departments, despite the nation’s current fiscal challenges, and that without the letter from 1,724 advocates, FY13 funding could have been worse.
More than 1,500 organizations, including Monarch Housing Associates, have already signed onto this letter, which closes on Tuesday, April 30. The same letter for FY 2013 generated over 1,700 signatories, and we need your help to surpass last year’s effort!
Please share this with your colleagues and members of your networks and remember the deadline for signing onto the letter is April 30.
