Four Units of Supportive Housing
On May 2, 2013, Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey, Inc. opened their HUD Section 811 supportive housing project, CPNJ Plainfield Residence, located in the City of Plainfield, NJ. This supportive housing residence will provide affordable, supportive housing to four individuals with developmental delays. The home is situated on a large lot, and is accessible, enabling the residents to enjoy all areas of the home.
Residents, family members, staff, funders, members of the development team and local government representatives were present for the cutting of the ribbon.
The four residents will have their own bedrooms and share the common areas within the home. They will share the accessible kitchen, bathrooms, living room, dining room and rear porch. The common spaces and individual bathrooms enable the residents to have their privacy and also allows them to engage in group activities. The home is located near amenities, allowing the residents to visit the local library, medical facilities, grocery stores, parks and other local amenities.
