The House HUD Appropriations Subcommittee is currently working on its FY 2014 funding bill for all programs within HUD, including the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Grants.
The House Appropriations Subcommittees are working under significantly reduced overall spending caps as compared to previous year’s levels. This means that funding for McKinney programs is at risk.
To ensure that the Homeless Assistance Grants receive as much funding as possible under these reduced spending caps, Members of Congress need to hear from YOU about how important these programs are in their districts.
As you know, the President’s FY 2014 Budget Proposal included an impressive 19 percent increase, setting the proposed funding level for HUD’s McKinney-Vento programs at $2.381 billion. We are confident that together we can work together to ensure that Congress provides increased funding for HUD’s McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Grants!
