As we reported yesterday, the Senate Finance Committee is accepting recommendations from Senators for tax expenditures to include in the Senate tax reform bill that meet these three threshold requirements:
Help grow the economy.
Make the tax code fairer.
Effectively promote other important policy objectives.
What can meet these standards better than the United for Homes campaign proposal?
It is critical that NJ’s Senators Menendez and Chiesa submit the United for Homes proposal to the Senate Finance Committee. There will be no better opportunity to influence the Senate tax reform bill than now!
The Senate Finance Chair Max Baucus (D-MT) and Ranking Member Orrin Hatch (R-UT) need submissions from their fellow Senators by July 26; bi-partisan submissions are best.
Monarch Housing Associates will be sending a letter to both Senators on the Untied for Homes proposal. Will you join with us in this campaign?
Now is the time to ACT and this is what you can do to help:
Call the tax staff person in each of your Senators’ offices. Tell them that you want the Senator to submit the United for Homes proposal to the Senate Finance Committee by the deadline of July 26. Click here for NJ contact information.
