Upcoming Federal Policy Decisions
Will Impact Ending Homelessness
On Thursday, September 26, 2013, at 3:00 p.m., the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and the National Alliance to End Homelessness will co-host a webinar titled “Housing Choice Vouchers: Funding Outlook and Impact on Ending Homelessness.”
The webinar will cover:
- The funding outlook for Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers and
- How upcoming federal budget policy decisions could impact community efforts to end homelessness.
Housing Choice Vouchers are a critical resource for community efforts to end homelessness, yet sequestration has sharply reduced the number of vouchers available in most communities. In coming weeks, Congress and the Administration will be considering proposals to modify sequestration, as well as to set HUD program funding levels for fiscal year 2014, which begins on October 1. These decisions carry opportunities, as well as risks, for the voucher program and other low-income housing programs.
Join the webinar to learn more about:
- What’s at stake for efforts to end homelessness, and
- What advocates can do to influence the outcome.
