Granite Leaders Increase
The NH Coalition to End Homelessness (NHCEH) is launching a new program called “Granite Leaders.”
Funded by the New Hampshire Housing and Finance Authority, Granite Leaders builds leadership skills within the homeless and formerly homeless community, increasing their capacity to take on influential roles on issues pertinent to their lives. The program began in November 2013.
Through a free six-month educational and experiential program, participants of Granite Leaders learn specific skills and interact with widely recognized leaders on the local, statewide and national levels. Upon completion of the program, graduates become part of a network of skilled leaders focused on improving the quality of life in communities across New Hampshire.
Could New Jersey develop its own homeless leadership program? Advocates could join efforts to increase awareness and also funding to end homelessness in New Jersey.
