Any of the eight groups was worth more than the admission price of $20 or a new blanket. They included not only the best choirs in NJ but also the formerly homeless. Click here to view a FIOS news report on the concert.
Sitting in the beautiful sanctuary with those who believe that no one should be homeless was an experience that reassured us we can and will end homelessness.
Together we shared the warmth of the season in the hope that one day all of our sisters and brothers will have a place to call home.
The finale – We Are the World – summed up not only the entire evening but also our shared dream that no one will be homeless.
We are the world, we are the children We are the ones who make a brighter day So let’s start giving There’s a choice we’re making We’re saving our own lives It’s true we’ll make a better day Just you and me
Hearing everyone’s voice singing in unison filled not only the hall but our hearts.
Hopefully, next year St. Aedan’s will be filled to overflowing with voices singing not only to celebrate the holiday season but also to prepare us for the day of jubilation when no one is homeless.
