Alliance Releases Community Snapshot

Alliance Releases Community Snapshot The National Alliance to End Homelessness (the Alliance) has released a Community Snapshot of Memphis-Shelby County, Tennessee that provides an overview of the community’s progress on ending homelessness.

From 2012 to 2013,

  • Overall homelessness in Memphis-Shelby County decreased by 12.5% and
  • Chronic homelessness among individuals decreased by 17%.

Community stakeholders identified

  1. An increase in the supply of permanent supportive housing, prioritization of chronic homelessness, and
  2. Conversion of transitional housing

as instrumental in reaching these decreases.
