Making Strides in Creating Affordable Housing

NLIHC Releases 2013 Annual Report

2013 NLIHC Annual ReportThe National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) has released its 2013 Annual Report.

The report summarizes the work that NLIHC has done to address the problem of the millions of Americans are without a decent, affordable home.

It highlights NLIHC’s action in the areas of policy, organizing, public education and research and focuses on the National Housing Trust Fund as the way to expand affordable housing in America.

The NLIHC policy proposal to fund the National Housing Trust Fund through mortgage interest deduction reform has grew into a popular national campaign. This solution to America’s affordable housing crisis brought together more than 1,400 endorsers from across the country of the United for Homes campaign.

“I know that one day United for Homes will be viewed as a groundbreaking movement that helped reshape U.S. tax policy and initiate America’s most substantial investment in affordable rental housing in decades.”

Writes NLIHC CEO Sheila Crowley.

Monarch Housing Associates is a proud and active member of the NLIHC.
