Congress is back from its August recess for a few weeks in September and we need to use this time to blitz congressional offices with calls about the importance of providing a $300 million increase for McKinney programs in FY 2015.
Call your Members’ offices (in both the House and Senate) and urge them to contact the Chair or Ranking Member of the Appropriations Committee and tell them that providing $2.406 billion for the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Grants program in FY 2015 is a high priority.

A $300 million increase in funding would help us end chronic homelessness by the end of 2016 and make significant reductions among other populations. Even in another difficult budget year, Congress should be working to ensure that we help those most in need.
When you call the offices, ask to speak to the person who handles housing issues for the Member. Tell that person to urge their boss to work to provide $2.406 billion for HUD’s McKinney programs in FY 2015!
Let us know who you called! The Alliance is working to generate as many calls (or emails/other contacts) as possible in a 5-day span, so keep us posted! You can email Kate Kelly with your updates.
