In Trenton, Catholic Charities operates a Rapid Re-Housing program that helped Vonn Brown’s family including his fiancée, and his two children, ages five and one, find a permanent place to call home for the last almost year and a half. After experiencing homelessness for almost a year, Vonn loves having his own apartment – his children have their own room to share, he continues to work full time and his fiancée studies to become a nurse. Rapid Re-Housing is a best practice that quickly keeps families and individuals from entering a cycle of homelessness, doubling up in other apartments or living in their cars.
It is hard to imagine that families with working adults face homelessness.
