Holt and Sires Supported McKinney-Vento Funding Increase

Despite Lower Level in Omnibus Bill
Their Support Demonstrated Leadership

Congressman Rush HoltThank you to U.S. Representatives Rush Holt and Albio Sires for supporting increasing for funding for McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Grants to $2.406 billion in FY 2015.

While Congress’ final Continuing Resolution (CR)-Omnibus Appropriations bill only funded McKinney-Vento at $2.135 billion, Holt and Sires support is still greatly appreciated by those advocates working across New Jersey to end homelessness!

Congressman Albio SiresWhile Representative Holt retires and leaves Congress this month, we appreciate his long time leadership in championing resources for those individuals and families in his district and across New Jersey who are homeless.

Both Holt and Sires have been leaders in supporting robust funding for McKinney-Vento. U.S. Representative Alcee L. Hastings of Florida circulated the letter that was dated December 5, 2014.
