Kilmer HomesMonarch Housing Associates and our partners would like to thank our generous partners and friends who have donated over $1,100 in Bed Bath & Beyond gift cards to help furnish the apartments for the homeless families moving into 30 new apartments at Kilmer Homes in Edison, New Jersey.

k&aA very special thank you to Kitchen & Associates, the architect for Kilmer Homes, which has donated a total of $750 so that each family will receive a $25 gift card and the Fair Share Housing Center which has made a $100 donation.

Donations from Monarch board members and friends of Monarch have made up the balance of the donations.

fshcAnd it is not too late to join them! Any gift card donation that you make is greatly appreciated! And please consider asking your colleagues, friends and families to join you.

The families will use the gift cards to purchase household item such as cleaning supplies and products, hangers, and kitchen garbage cans – all of the basics that are needed when furnishing a new apartment.

Bob’s Furniture has donated mattresses and box springs and the United Way of Central NJ will be donating dishes, glassware, flatware and pots and pans for the kitchen. We appreciate their generous donations!

Monarch Housing is a proud partner in the development of the newly constructed affordable apartments at Kilmer Homes in Edison. The other parties are:

The development includes 30 units of permanent supportive housing for homeless families.

In early January, a lottery was held with 153 eligible households applying for the available 1-and 2-BR apartments. That translates into over 5 households applying for every available apartment.
