Identify Veterans and Available Housing and Goal Setting
As part of the National Alliance to End Homelessness’ (NAEH) ongoing effort to provide guidance to communities during the run-up to the 2015 goal of ending veteran homelessness in the U.S., the Alliance has published a one-page document that outlines and describes the five major steps that communities must take to end veteran homelessness.
This is the first in a series of resources on ending veteran homelessness that the Alliance will provide in the coming months.
The five priorities are:
Identify all homeless veterans in your community and create a sharable master list
Identify all available housing stock, including currently existing and potential stock
Set a clear numerical goal and timeline for getting veterans housed and regularly track progress
Identify the needed supportive services and resources for veterans
