Letter Urges Congress to Appropriate Robust THUD FundingThis month, 3,020 local, state, and national organizations sent a letter to Senate and House appropriators, urging them to increase the FY16 302(b) allocation to their respective Subcommittees on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (THUD) to the highest possible level.

“As members of the Appropriations Committees, and more importantly as elected representatives of your state and local communities, we urge you to invest in the success of America’s communities by increasing the 302(b) allocation to the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Subcommittee to the highest possible level in FY 2016.”

The letter says.

Monarch Housing Associates was proud to be one of the 90 organizations in New Jersey to sign the letter.

The 302b allocation is a critical step in the appropriations process. Once Congress agrees on a top-line spending limit in its budget resolution, the House and Senate Appropriations Committees divide the top-line spending limit among their 12 subcommittees, including the THUD subcommittees.

The letter was coordinated by the Campaign for Housing and Community Development Funding.
