Assessing Community Permanent Supportive Housing Needs

Tool Will Help Target Chronically Homeless

Coordinated Assessment Conference a SuccessThe United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) has released a tool to help communities assess their supportive housing. In order to meet the national 2017 goal of ending chronic homelessness, the number of supportive housing units must provide for those experiencing chronic homelessness and those at risk.

The Supportive Housing Opportunities Planner (SHOP) tool will assist communities in matching supportive housing strategies with the supportive housing need including improving targeting the creation of new units.

Users input prioritization and unit creation targets and SHOP supplies the number of people affected and the impact on the 2017 goal.

Stay tuned for a webinar from USICH offering support and answering questions.
