Provide Adequate Funding for Housing Programs
The National Supportive Housing Coalition is circulating a sign on letter addressed to House and Senate leadership that asks Congress to raise the sequester spending caps for fiscal year (FY) 2016 to provide adequate funding for housing, community development program and service programs that assist the most vulnerable populations, including the homeless.
Monarch Housing Associates has signed on and encourages organizations concerned about sequestration and the budget caps to do the same.
Writes the Coalition,
“The continuous cuts in recent years for these critical programs has resulted in the reduction of extremely low-income households, including those with persons with disabilities, seniors, families with children and persons experiencing homelessness to find affordable housing and receive supportive services they need to maintain a home.”
