Now is the time for New Jersey to create or revisit its Workforce and Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA) plan.
Take advantage of this opportunity to ensure that our state plan includes the strategic language necessary for serving high-need or high-barrier individuals.
All state WIOA plans are due at the U.S. Department of Labor by Friday, April 1, 2016. Prior to submission there is a 30-day comment period.
This is a timely opportunity to be sure your state plan also includes language that aims to serve individuals and families that are homeless. This may be of particular interest to you in relation to work with family heads of household.
The National Alliance to End Homelessness and the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness have provided recommendation and ideas on how to prioritize collaboration between workforce boards and Continuums of Care.
