Menendez Hosts Homeless Resources Fair in Camden

Fresh Start Resources Fair on September 20 Includes Local Homeless Services Providers

On Tuesday, September 20, 2016, New Jersey’s U.S. Senator Bob Menendez will host a Fresh Start Resources Fair in Camden New Jersey.

The Senators’ Southern New Jersey Constituent Services Office will hold the Fair at the Campus Center of Rutgers University – Camden from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The Fresh Start Resources Fair will provide the tools all under one roof to directly assist constituents who are at-risk, or currently experiencing homelessness.

The Fair will allow attendees to meet one-on-one with local service providers, access resources, and acquire information to help stop the cycle of homelessness.  The goal of the Fair is to equip participants with the most relevant and helpful information available today to help provide for a more stable, brighter tomorrow.

Senator Menendez spoke at the Congressional Reception about the importance of housing.

“Everyone should have a place to call home,” said Senator Bob Menendez at the July 13, 2016 Congressional Reception about the importance of housing and his support for No Housing Cuts.

“I see firsthand the benefits of housing and community development projects …These projects can change lives, they are not about bricks and mortar … They are about lives. Home is the place that we get nurtured and grow up in,” he said.

“The sense of understanding that we are all in this together … is something that drives me everyday in the Senate to fight for a different course of action,” said Senator Bob Menendez.

Over 350 advocates traveled to Washington, DC to meet with the New Jersey Congressional delegates and let them know that there should be No Housing Cuts and the need for investments for housing and homelessness prevention.
