Senator Menendez and Congressman Payne, Jr. Joining us for Congressional Reception – Registration Ends Thursday July 20th at 6 PM
In just one week, on July 26, 2017, we will be hosting the 2017 Congressional Reception in Washington D.C. We will be joined by 425 advocates traveling by bus to Washington DC from across New Jersey and each of the state’s 12 congressional districts.
The registration deadline for July 26 is Thursday, July 20 at 6:00 p.m.
Senator Bob Menendez and Congressman Donald Payne, Jr. (D-10) will be at the event to meet and address their constituents in attendance. His attendance brings the total attendance of elected officials at the event up to four.
We continue to follow up the invitation to the balance of the 8 House members who represent New Jersey along with New Jersey’s two U.S. Senators.
If you are registered for the Congressional Reception and your member is not one of the four House members who has committed to attending – let him or her and Senators Booker Menendez know that you will be in DC on the 26th at the Congressional Reception. You can call or email them and encourage them to attend.
Please click here to access their contact information in the DC offices. Your message to your elected officials is simple “Please join me at the Congressional Reception in DC on July 26!”
July 26 will be a very exciting day for all of us in Washington and the most important part of the event it having your voice be heard and sharing the theme and message “No Housing Cuts.”
Advocates attending the Congressional Reception will be able to use Facebook and Twitter to let your friends and followers and elected officials know that you are at the Congressional Reception.
Our hashtags are:
There will be also be an opportunity via Facebook Live to tell your elected officials why you are in Washington, D.C. When you arrive at the Congressional Reception, there will be a way for you to sign up to share your story on Facebook Live!
Photos are a great way for you to share that you are headed to or in Washington DC. The buses will be equipped with photo props and we will have those same props at the reception as well.
Take a minute to take a photo with your friends and colleagues, post it on Facebook, Twitter or other social media, tag your elected officials and use the hashtags #NoHousingCuts, #NJHillDay and #OurHomesOurVoices – a picture tells a thousand words!
We have many speakers who will share their experiences and how Affordable Homes Transform Lives and End Homelessness.
All of the details of the day are exciting, but the most important part of the event it having your voice be heard. The theme for the event is “No Housing Cuts”. This is important giving the majorly devastating cuts that many Americans rely upon.
If you agree with us and believe that housing is a right not a privilege, there are still a few spots left for motivated and passionate individuals.
