Seven Buses Will Bring 450 Advocates from Across NJ to DC for the Congressional Reception on July 26
On July 26, 2017, over 450 advocates from Across New Jersey will speak with the members of our delegation at the 2017 Congressional Reception.
To date, a total of 5 elected officials –
- Senator Bob Menendez,
- Congressman Donald Payne, Jr,
- Congressman Albio Sires (D-8),
- Congressman Donald Norcross (D-1) and
- Leonard Lance (R-7).
We continue to follow up the invitation with all of the members who represent New Jersey.
The 450 advocates attending the Congressional Reception will begin the day in Washington by attending a “Rally on Capitol Hill” as part of Our Homes Our Voices National Housing Week of Action. The Rally as it is across the street from the Dirksen Senate Building and is an integral part of the event.
The seven buses will be leaving early Wednesday morning! For more information email Jaclyn Imbirano.
July 26 will be a very exciting day for all of us in Washington and the most important part of the event it having your voice be heard and sharing the theme and message “No Housing Cuts.”
Advocates attending the Congressional Reception will be able to use Facebook and Twitter to let your friends and followers and elected officials know that you are at the Congressional Reception. Follow the event on our social media feed page.
Our hashtags are:
There will be also be an opportunity via Facebook Live to tell your elected officials why you are in Washington, D.C. When you arrive at the Congressional Reception, there will be a way for you to sign up to share your story on Facebook Live!
Photos are a great way for you to share that you are headed to or in Washington DC. The buses will be equipped with photo props and we will have those same props at the reception as well.
Take a minute to take a photo with your friends and colleagues, post it on Facebook, Twitter or other social media, tag your elected officials and use the hashtags #NoHousingCuts, #NJHillDay and #OurHomesOurVoices – a picture tells a thousand words!
We have many speakers who will share their experiences and how Affordable Homes Transform Lives and End Homelessness.
All of the details of the day are exciting, but the most important part of the event it having your voice be heard. The theme for the event is “No Housing Cuts”. This is important giving the devastating cuts that many Americans rely upon.
If you agree with us and believe that housing is a right not a privilege, there are still a few spots left for motivated and passionate individuals.
