Shaping Lives: Links to Homelessness Services October 11th 10 to 2 in Newark

The City of Newark, The Newark Public Library, Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare and Bridges Outreach Hosting Homelessness Event from 10 to 2 at Newark Public Library

On Wednesday, October 11, 2017, The City of Newark, The Newark Public Library, Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare and Bridges Outreach will host “Shaping Lives: Links to Homelessness Services.”

The three organizations are partnering to host the event which will take place at The Newark Public Library, 5 Washington Street in Newark from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Organizations serving people affected by homelessness are invited to join in a day of outreach. The event will take place in case of rain or shine. In case of rain, the service providers will welcome participants inside the Library.

Many people needing housing have jobs but not enough money for rent. Winter hardships are approaching, and this event strives to inform homeless persons of services to help them to receive food, showers, laundry, mental health therapies, pediatric care, prison discharge services, drug abuse counseling, health screenings, transportation, immigration and naturalization guidance, shelter, and more.

  • Free haircuts,
  • clothing,
  • toiletries,
  • snacks, and
  • other useful items will be provided to attendees. Entertainment will be offered by DJ Fresh.
