This event will take place in the Dirksen Senate Auditorium from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The goal for this Congressional Reception is to give New Jersey residents concerned about homelessness and New Jersey’s affordable housing crisis an opportunity to urge their elected officials to make no cuts to housing and to remind them that an individual’s opportunities increase when they have a place to call home.
This event will feature impact speakers from each of New Jersey’s Congressional Districts as well as state wide speakers.
Impact speakers will have a chance to share their experiences with homelessness and will remind their elected officials of the necessity for affordable and accessible housing.
If you have personally been impacted by homelessness and would like to be an impact speaker reach out to Kate Kelly from the Public Policy Team at Monarch Housing Associates.
If you have not personally been impacted by homelessness or do not want to be an impact speaker but would still like to attend, please sign up here.
The attendee’s role is just as important in showing the elected officials that affordable housing is an issue that concerns all New Jersey Residents. As an attendee you will have the chance to listen to impact speakers and get to meet your elected official.
New this year, seating for the Congressional Reception will be prioritized by largest Congressional Districts represented by attendees and will then default to numerical order.
Bus and district competitions will also be happening to encourage attendees to connect with other attendees with similar concerns on homelessness and housing affordability.
Transportation to the Congressional Reception is offered from six different locations in New Jersey for a small fee of $10.
If you would like to inquire about a promotional code, please reach out to Kara Foley of Monarch Housing Associates.
Seats are limited and so far, 150 people have signed up since registration opened last week.
If you are planning on providing your own transportation to the event there is no fee, and lunch will be provided.
All of those attending regardless of how they travel must register.
