“Now is the time to be aware of the pressing needs for people with mental illness and people who are homeless,” said, Richard W. Brown. “We are trying to raise awareness that Opportunity Starts at Home. We can do more to help those with the greatest housing and services needs where they have been put aside or overlooked. Unfortunately, the demand for affordable and supportive housing is always greater than the number of units that are available. For most of the developments in which Monarch Housing is a development partner, the demand is anywhere from five to 10 people applying for every available unit. This demand reminds us that we need to continue to build more affordable and supportive units to increase the opportunities for people to live independently.”
We will provide regular updates on the Walk for Wellness and Recovery.
