Why Attend the Congressional Reception: Talita Elizeu

Making Housing Affordability a Top Priority

For the first time, Hudson County Housing Resource Center (HCHRC) will be in attendance and a sponsor at the Congressional Reception on July 24. Talita Elizeu, Outreach Coordinator at HCHRC, discusses why the Congressional Reception is a significant way to make housing affordability a top priority in New Jersey.

“This is an opportunity for housing organizations and advocates to come together and share with legislatures stories about why housing matters, how it makes a different in people’s lives and what happens when they don’t have it.”

The mission of the Hudson County Housing Resource Center is to protect, maintain, and increase the housing stock and to prevent homelessness. They are a HUD-Certified Housing Counseling Agency. According to HCHRC, this allows them to offer free and confidential information to landlords and tenants about rental rights.
