Opportunity Starts at Home: Building a Necessary and Secure Foundation for Healthy Communities
The Opportunity Starts at Home Campaign, spearheaded by the National Low-Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC), is designed to address the needs of renters and low income households in our communities.  The 2019 Congressional Reception will highlight policies that demonstrate the critical role a home plays in our daily lives and supports the understanding that:
  • Housing is a right,
  • Housing is healthcare and
  • Housing creates healthy communities.
This year’s Federal Policy Priorities focus on Housing and Services, Medicaid, Housing Affordability, Fair Housing and Housing Development.  Click here for more information about the 2019 Congressional Reception policy priorities.
Each year we have the opportunity to speak directly with our elected officials and their staffers about critical federal policies impacting related to housing and supports that impact our daily lives.
This year we look forward to continued conversations with our elected officials as we discuss the impact of federal policies and resources on homelessness and the creation of homes that are affordable in our home state.
