On July 22nd, S 2634, a bill to provide tax relief for major disaster areas in 2012, 2013, and 2014 was re-introduced, a companion piece to HR 5082.
Rep. Charles Rangel has introduced HR4479 the Renters Tax Credit Act of 2014 and he is seeking co-sponsors. No House member in NJ is a sponsor.
On July 11, 2014, Rep. Tom Reed and Bill Pascrell filed H.R. 5082, the House Disaster Tax Relief Bill which would provide a LIHTC allocation of $8.
The measure would provide a LIHTC allocation of the greater of $8 per individual in the disaster areas or 50% of the state’s LIHTC ceiling.
