On Friday, May 17, 2013, the Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness (Mercer Alliance) and Monarch Housing Associates (Monarch) are hosting a one-day conference “Changing the System to End Family Homelessness.”
It presents an important opportunity for TANF officials and personnel to learn more about family homelessness and how TANF resources can be used to rapidly re-house families in the state.
The memorandum highlights the use of TANF to support rapid re-housing in communities, which NAEH also explores in its strategy profiles of Mercer County, NJ and Salt Lake City, Utah.
Despite the increases in family homelessness seen during the recession, there has been no nationwide data collection effort to track the relationship between foreclosure and trends in homelessness.
The report provides the nation with a clear picture of homelessness in the cities adds to the information we all need in order to see and solve the problem.
